Equinox Energy, founded in 2022 by a team of ambitious Namibian professionals, is positioned to become a leading project development venture in Southern Africa. Our mission is to leverage the region’s abundant resources to originate, develop, finance, build, and operate green industrial projects across multiple sectors. We collaborate with technology partners, financial institutions, landowners, and a range of local and international organisations, all united by a shared commitment to creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.

With our expanding pipeline of projects ranging from residential, industrial, and utility scale, which currently sits at 55 MW of power, we aim to deliver value to our clients, investors, and various other stakeholders while staying committed to the well-being of our planet.
What We Do
OUR MODEL
We take a holistic approach, covering every stage from project creation and financial structuring to design, construction, operation, and ownership of large industrial and grid-scale renewable energy production and storage projects.
Originate
Our extensive strength and experience in project origination and development encompasses:
- Identifying optimal locations for projects, considering factors such as natural resources, proximity to infrastructure, and regulatory environments.
- Leveraging existing government and industry relationships to source and secure project opportunities
- Engaging local communities, governments, and relevant stakeholders to ensure project aligns with local needs and regulations
- Networking and leveraging in-house expertise to secure off-taker agreements, permits and licenses to broaden our project pipeline
Construct
Collaborate with our best-in-class partners and OEMs, to serve as contractors suppliers for the projects we develop, ensuring:
- Seamless execution from engineering and procurement, to construction
- Minimize construction safety risks and shorten timeline between ground-breaking and plant commissioning
- Reduce or prevent construction budget overruns
Finance
We leverage in-house finance and legal expertise to:
- Secure financing through various means including equity investments, debt financing and public-private partnerships
- Collaborate with investors, banks, and government agencies
- Analyze financial and operational risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
- Form strategic partnerships with OEM’s, construction firms and technology providers to optimize project economics
Operate & Own
To ensure long-term operability of our projects we leverage strong in-house and third-party service providers to:
- Maintain optimal daily operation & maintenance
- Optimize energy usage, reduce equipment downtime, and maximize asset utilization rates
- Deliver timely and comprehensive production, operating risk, and environmental impact reporting
